]You flee the cabin and run through the woods when a light suddenly shines onto you. At the other end of the light is a robed figure.

]}The tables appear to be a makeshift alchemy lab, though alchemy has been illegal for as long as you can remember. Flasks and other scientific and theological equipment are littered about the tables, as well as a large amount of lead and gold. There's also a decent amount of wolfram, aqua regia, copper, iridium, and a few other materials that you can't be sure of what exactly they are. On the floor, you notice a small puddle of liquid sulfur and broken glass.

]You approach the cage. Shivers run down your spine, and you hesitate as you near the eerie corner of the basement. As you get closer, you hear sobbing. Finally, you see what's in the cage: three men. One of the men has had their head cut off and replaced with that of a deer. They can not speak, but they are still conscious. You don't know how they're still alive. The other two men have had several of their limbs cut off, and the two have been sewn together with a wasp nest in the middle of them. They won't stop crying. Everyone is blinded as intense light floods the room, but as you bolt towards the door one of the robed figures lunges for you. As soon as the light is gone, you're done for.

The deer-man attacks but is quickly subdued, though the conjoined men's wasps do down a few of the residents before turning back on the people they live in. In the commotion, one of the robed figures reaches you, and it all goes black. If only there was something you could use to distract them.

They don't see you. Behind you there are some [[cabinets->cabinets lights off]], a [[stove->stove lights off]], a [[sink->sink lights off]], and what appears to be a [[pentagram->pentagram lights off]] on the floor. There are also doors leading to a [[bathroom->bathroom lights off]] and some sort of [[bedroom->bedroom lights off]].You take a sip out of the first bottle. It's definitely alcohol. It would probably be wise to not [[drink any more->drink any more lights off]].
[[Back->cabinets lights off]]You open the second bottle and take a sip. It's rat poison. You proceed to smash the bottle onto the ground and scream in victory, before throwing up and dying.

From what you can see in the darkness, each bed looks almost identitical - a stiff mattress, a thin blanket, and one pillow per bed. You inspect each bed, finding that one bed has a Garfield plush and another has a [[diary->diary lights off]].
[[Back->bedroom lights off]]There's a circle made of salt, roughly nine feet in diameter. A pentagram is in the center of the circle, with an unlit candle at each point. There's some substance in the middle of the pentagram, but you can't identify it. It reeks. A few feet away from the circle, you spot [[a hatch->a hatch lights off]].
[[Back->bedroom lights off]] You open the diary. Half the pages are ripped out, and it's too dark to read the other half.

Flasks and other scientific and theological equipment are littered about the tables, as well as a large amount of metals that you can't identify in the dark.
[[Back->the basement lights off]]You approach the cage. Shivers run down your spine, and you hesitate as you near the eerie corner of the basement. As you get closer, you hear sobbing. Finally, you see what's in the cage: three men. One of the men has had their head cut off and replaced with that of a deer. They can not speak, but they are still conscious. You don't know how they're still alive. The other two men have had several of their limbs cut off, and the two have been sewn together with a wasp nest in the middle of them. They won't stop crying. They won't stop crying. They won't stop crying.
